Regulations on Disciplinary Sanctions for International Students at Beijing Foreign Studies University

Chapter I General Provisions

Article 1: To maintain the normal order of teaching, education, and life at the school, to standardize management and govern the school according to law, to protect the legitimate rights and interests of both the school and students, and to optimize the educational environment, this regulation is formulated in accordance with the spirit of the "Measures for the Admission and Cultivation of International Students" (Order No.42 of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China), and in combination with the Charter of Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Article 2 These Regulations shall apply to international students studying in our university (hereinafter referred to as "students").

Article 3  When imposing disciplinary measures on students, the principle of combining education with punishment shall be adhered to, and the measures shall be commensurate with the nature and severity of the illegal or disciplinary acts committed by the students, so as to ensure that the evidence is sufficient, the basis is clear, the characterization is accurate, the procedures are proper and the measures are appropriate.

Article 4 Students who participate in teaching (graduation) practice, investigation, social practice, exchange and other activities outside the school and commit illegal or disciplinary violations shall be given disciplinary sanctions according to these provisions.

The punishments include:

(1) warning; (2) serious warning; (3) reprimand; (4) probation; (5) expulsion from school.

If a student violates the school rules and regulations, but the circumstances are minor enough to be unpunished, the student's college should give him criticism and education and urge him to correct his mistakes.
