The Joint Conference of the Principals of National College TCSL Undergraduate Major Held in BFSU
The Fourth Conference of the Joint Committee of Principals of National College Undergraduate TCSL major，hosted by SCLL，was held in the Conference Hall at BFSU library，on Oct.20th-21st，2017. Vice President Yan Guohua attended the meeting, together with leaders and experts and scholars of Undergraduate Chinese International Education Major from more than 30 Universities nationwide. Some of SCLL faculty and graduate students also attended the meeting.
Vice President Yan Guohua，made the opening speech on behalf of the BFSU leaders. He pointed out that Beijing Foreign Studies University, as one of the four institutions of higher education that firstly set up the Chinese International Education Major , strongly supported its subject construction and talents cultivation，and attached great importance to the International spreading of Chinese language and culture. In recent years, BFSU based on the group of experts and teachers from School of Chinese Language and Literature，integrated academic resources, to have made a lot of useful attempts in Chinese cultural spreading and Chinese International Education.
As he emphasized, with the increas inginfluence of China on the international arena, the construction of TCSL Majorh as shown great prospects as it is in high agreement with national cultural strategy and the development of social causes. Meanwhile, it is also urgent to clarify a number of specific problems, such as the subject'sorientation, the Innovation of training mode, the setup of core curriculum, and the development of students' employment and so on.
Yan Guohua, vice president of BFSU, then pointed out that with the platform, which is the "Joint Committee of Principals of National College Undergraduate TCSL Major", planning the measures of reforming and constructing this discipline, creating and playing the role of Professional Guidance Committee, and relying on overseas Confucius Institutes that are advantageous in resource as bridge towers, we can promote this discipline to develop better and faster.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Wei Chongxin, the Dean of the School of Chinese Language and Literature. Cheng Juan from Beijing Language and Culture University, Zhang De-shao from East China Normal University, HeYun from Shanghai Foreign Language University delivered speeches. Shi Jiawei, the Secretary-General of the Joint Committee delivered a workreport. The professional leaders,experts and scholars carried out thorough and enthusiastic discussions, on the two focus issues: curriculum system and training program.
