The Experts of the School of Chinese Language and Literature Went to Hungary to Carry out Local Chinese Teachers Training and Received Wide Acclaim.

From October 4th to 8th, Zhang Xiaohui, Executive Dean of the school of Chinese language and literature, led a team of Chinese international education experts to visit the Confucius Institute at the University of Roland, Hungary, to participate in Central and Eastern Europe local teachers training and hold special lectures and workshops with the theme of “Production-oriented Approach”in Chinese teaching.More than 30 local teachers from 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and some Chinese teachers and volunteers from the Confucius Institute attended the training.

Zhu Yong gave a general introduction to the related theoretical frameworks,and the application of the "Production-oriented Approach"(POA) to break through the intermediate bottleneck of Chinese learning.It reported the classroom interaction between teachers and students and the final output quality in the teaching experiment,which proved the effectiveness of POA in strengthening textual teaching and improving classroom learning efficiency.Gui Jing focused on the POA treatment of Chinese textbooks,introducing the basic principles and implementation steps of transformation of existing textbooks through the reconstruction of the teaching objectives of traditional textbooks, the selection of teaching content and the adaptation of exercises.Ji Wei focused on thepromotingpart of the POA teaching process, explaining how teachers can design teaching activities according to the principles of precision, gradualism and diversity, so that students can achieve the promotion of content, language and discourse structure in theproceduralpractical activities, and finally complete the production task.Bai Xue presided over the workshop, focusing on teaching materials and combining teaching videos to further discuss the issues that should be paid attention to in POA teaching design.In the discussion of the workshop, the participants carried out the design of teaching objectives and teaching tasks according to their own understanding of training. While practicing the POA theoretical process, they actively considered the needs of native students and put forward many constructive opinions.

The "Production-oriented Approach" training has attracted wide attention among local teachers in Central and Eastern Europe and has been widely praised.Central and Eastern European teachers generally agree that there indeed exists a problem that isa lot of learning and not much usein early Intermediate Chinese learning. It is considered that the POA teaching method is suitable for dealing with the problem of lack of communicative scenes in Chinese learning in non-target-language countries and training students' ability to think in Chinese.They hoped that the research team will launch more POA teaching materials reflecting the contrast between traditional China and modern China,Chinese cultures and foreign cultures as soon as possible so that they can better practice the new teaching method.

He Wei, deputy director of the Hanban Teacher's Office, who is currently evaluating in the Confucius Institute, Professor Jia Fang,from Beijing Normal University, a special training expert of Hanban,Professor Zhang Bo, the director of the Academic Committee of Beijing Language and Culture University, the Editor-in-Chief of World Chinese Teaching, Professor Zhang Hao, Party Secretary of Chinese Language Institute of the Beijing Language and Culture University, listened to the "Production-oriented Approach" training and fully affirmed the content and effect of the lecture.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Roland was established in 2006. Three teachers of our school have served as Chinese deans, and dozens of students have gone to the Confucius Institute as volunteer teachers.In 2013, with the support of the Hungarian government and the Confucius Institute Headquarters, the Central and Eastern European Teacher Training Center was established at the University of Roland. It is open to 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. It holds regular local Chinese teacher training every year and has been successfully held for 7 sessions so far,which made positive contributions to the construction of local Chinese teachers in Central and Eastern Europe .
