SCLL Hold The 15th Postgraduate Academic Forum
The 15th postgraduate academic forum of SCLL was held on December 1st as scheduled. More than 200 doctoral and postgraduate students and over 40 postgraduate supervisors gathered together to discuss academic topics and practical innovation of such professional fields as literature and culture, linguistics and language teaching. The forum had 11 parallel sessions, which fully integrated the masters of Chinese international education and linguistics, and set up the "mutual evaluation" link.
Xiao-hui Zhang, executive dean of SCLL, pointed out that the school attaches great importance to cultivating the academic innovation and the teaching practice ability of the postgraduate students, through the 15 sessions of exploration and attempt, the forum has always been adhering to the theme “Speak with benevolence, listen with a learning-heart, and argue with justice”, achieves the aim of enlivening the academic atmosphere, improving the academic accomplishment, enhancing the capability to innovate and expanding the academic vision, which gets high attention and active participation of all teachers and students of SCLL.
In the speech, Dean Xiao-hui Zhang reviewed the process from the start-up to the perfection of the postgraduate academic forum of SCLL. Meanwhile, she emphasized that it not only adapts to the law of Chinese discipline construction, but also explores the law of high-level and distinctive training in Chinese major, conforms to the new trend of higher education development, and responds to the new requirements of national strategy for talented people. Additionally, she encouraged students to form a clear sense of problem in academic exchanges, to be good at discovering problems, to insist on pursuing truth, to seek real knowledge, and to connect the academic research and development with the national progress.
Finally, Yu-hua Gao, the deputy dean of SCLL, made a summary of the forum. She pointed that the team of instructors have made wonderful comments. This forum activity will provide good guidance and help for the students' future academic research and teaching practice.
