SCLL Hold The 14th Graduate Academic Forum
The 14th Graduate Academic Forum was held on November 25th, 2017 in the Chinese Hall by SCLL. Following the principle of“facilitating the communication through literature”, the forum was aimed to liven the atmosphere of academic life; strengthen the academic ability; offer an opportunity of brainstorming and help widen the visions of students.
Professor Tao Jiajun,president of graduate school,attended the forum and delivered a speech. More than 30 graduate tutors from SCLL and over 200 PhD and master students attended the forum.
Mr.Tao declaimed that BFSU attaches great importance to postgraduate academic research and strongly supports the Chinese Academy to hold postgraduate academic forums. He hopes that Chinese students will exchange ideas with scholars and enhance their academic ability.
Professor Wei Chongxin, Dean of SCLL,reviewed the history of the Graduate Forum for Chinese Language Studies from start-up to its developing present situation and encouraged the participants to uphold the Chinese spirit and world views. They always adhered to the principleof seeking truth, and making great efforts to improve their academic attainments.
Professor Gao Yuhua, subdecanal of SCLL,pointed out in her concluding remarks that the forum this year has made many records, including the most submitted essays, the strongest academic enthusiasm and the highest participation rate of postgraduate tutors among all the forums held by SCLL . She encouraged everyone to develop their feelings and self-discipline spirit in academic research.
The forum divided the students into eleven meeting groups,to discuss the academic topics and practical innovation topics in the fields of Literature,Linguistics and Teaching.respectively.The forum provides a platform for graduate students of SCLL to learn academic and inspire ideas. Reports on different topics and different disciplines, as well as wonderful comments by doctoral and postgraduate tutors, will surely provide guidance forgraduate students in their academic path.
