After nearly a year of preparation, the high-end academic seminar “History and Construction: Research and Writing of Literary History” was held in our school from October 19th to 20th.
More than 30 nationally renowned scholars from Peking University,Beijing Normal University,Renmin University of China,Chinese Academy of Social Sciences,Institute of Literature,Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing Language and Culture University,Capital Normal University,Fudan University,Wuhan University,Jilin University,Nanjing University,Shandong University,Henan University and Jinan University engaged in literary studies and attended the conference.
Yuan Jun,the Vice President of the school and Director of the academic committee, attended the seminar and delivered a speech.Mr. Zhan Furui,Dan of the Chinese Language Institute,Zhang Xiaohui,Executive dean,and Wei Chongxin,Director of the Academic Committee,presided over the various stages of the meeting.The Chinese teachers and students participated in the seminar.
Yuan Jun, on behalf of the school leaders,welcomed all the distinguished guests present at the conference. He was grateful to the experts and scholars in the literary circle for supporting the construction and development of the Chinese language and literature discipline in Beijing Foreign Studies University.Yuan Jun pointed out that the theme of "History and Construction: Research and Writing of Literary History" was prominent,and the history of literature had a direct impact on the study and writing of literary history.Under the grand background of Chinese cultural revival and firm cultural confidence,it was an unavoidable academic topic and mission to rethink the literary history and find new paths and methods.
Yuan Jun emphasized that Beijing Foreign Studies University had deep red genes,revolutionary traditions and academic glory.The academy of Chinese Language and Literature of Beijing Foreign Studies University is confronting the opportunities and challenges of the development of disciplines.It must inherit the fine traditions and rigorous academic style of the school,further integrate resources,attach importance to the introduction of talents,cultivate and discover a group of young and middle-aged academic backbones,enhance academic influence,realize characteristic development, and strive to make new breakthroughs in the construction of doctoral programs in the first-level disciplines of Chinese language and literature,so as to make greater contributions to the construction of “Double First-rate” of Beijing Foreign Studies University.
This conference is a grand academic meeting held in the important period of realizing the breakthrough development of the discipline construction of the academy of Chinese Language and Literature at the centenary of literary history writing and research.The literary history view and the writing of literary history need to be researched continuously.It is a sustainable career. The theoretical thinking triggered by the conference will bring rich academic nourishment and long-term spiritual encouragement to teachers and students of the academy of Chinese Language and Literature of Beijing Foreign Studies University.This will make a strong impetus to the national Chinese discipline,especially for writing of literary history,and leave an important mark in the academic history.
